Fall in Boston! Crisp air, colorful leaves, pumpkin drinks from Dunkin. Does it get any better?

There are only a few true fall weekends in Boston; here are some events to get you out of the house and enjoying the season.

  1. Head of the Charles Regatta: This prestigious rowing event, held in late October, attracts thousands of rowers and spectators from around the world. It's one of the largest rowing regattas and offers a unique opportunity to watch rowing teams compete along the scenic Charles River. October 20-22nd, Charles River near Harvard Square

  2. Boston Local Food Festival: Celebrating the region's vibrant food scene and sustainable practices/ It features food vendors, farmers, chefs, and live music, making it a great event for food enthusiasts. September 17th, Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston.

  3. Phantom Gourmet Food Festival: Another fantastic food festival right in Boston. Dozens of options for food sampling as well as beer and wine. 21+ so leave the kids at home! September 23rd, Moody Street, Waltham

  4. Boo at the Zoo: Lions, Tigers and Bears, oh my! The Stone Zoo puts on ‘Boo at the Zoo’ each year, inviting kids of all ages to wear their costumer and trick or treat around the zoo. Plenty of animal sightings and education events! October 21st and 22nd, Stone Zoo in Stoneham

  5. Honk! Festival: This unique event brings together street bands, activist groups, and performers for a lively and colorful parade and musical performances in Somerville. October 6-8th, Davis Square Somerville
